Pharmacological group: antiparasitic drug
Method of effect:
Fenbendazole is taken orally by worms and blocks the polymerization of the structural protein tubulin within nerve axons, thereby affecting the transport functions of the parasite's host cells.
Pyrantel works as an antagonist at nicotinic cholinergic receptors in the ganglia, causing spastic neuromuscular paralysis in worms.
Praziguantel increases the permeability of cell membranes to calcium ions, which causes muscle contraction in the parasite.
display:
Diseases caused by roundworms and tapeworms in dogs and cats.
Contraindication: cysticercosis of the eye and neurocysticercosis of the spine. Liver dysfunction.
Interactions: should not be prescribed simultaneously with drugs based on piperazine or other antiparasitic agents.
Dosage: Tablets can be taken alone or mixed with food. Your friend should take a single dose. Should not be taken with dairy foods.
Dosage:
Puppies, small breed dogs and cats: 1/2 tablet 0.7 g per 2-5 kg weight
Medium-sized dogs: 1 tablet of 0.7 g per 5-10 kg weight
Large dogs and large predators: 1 tablet 0.7 g
Side effects: Vomiting, cloudy stools, hives or fever may develop within a few hours of ingestion. This is a reaction to proteins released from the dying worms, not a drug reaction.
Precautions: In pregnant animals, the exact dosage should be followed. In puppies, it is recommended to take the drug from the age of 3 weeks and then regularly every 3 months.
Storage: in a dry and dark place in intact original packaging at a temperature of up to 25 °C.
